Hit Send Terms & Conditions
The terms ‘Hit Send’, ‘us’, ‘we’ or ‘our’ refer to the Australian business Hit Send whose registered address is Level 2, 162 Macquarie Street, Hobart TAS 7000.
Hit Send provides copyediting, proofreading and structural editing services. Often our work comprises all three. Read more about these terms.
Hit Send is committed to protecting customers’ confidentiality. Hit Send editors will treat your documents with absolute discretion and will not distribute them, or reveal the content, to anyone else without the author’s full consent and approval.
The author of any documents submitted to Hit Send will retain the copyright for their material. As a consequence of this, responsibility for satisfying legal requirements such as plagiarism and libel also remains with the author.
- Service quality and refund policy
Hit Send editors aim to provide you with the best service possible. However, we do not guarantee that edited documents are “error-free” or “perfect”.
Hit Send is not liable for incidental, indirect, consequential, or any other damages whatsoever related to the services provided by Hit Send. This exemption applies to any claim, loss, or injury based on errors, omissions, interruptions, or any other inaccuracies that may appear in an edited customer document or on the Hit Send website.
Hit Send is not obliged to refund the cost of the services in the case of an edited document being less than perfect. However, if you are not completely satisfied with our services, please contact us and we will make every effort to remedy the situation.
Important: As the customer, it is your choice whether to accept, reject or amend the changes Hit Send has made. The customer is responsible for reviewing any edited document upon completion and contacting Hit Send should any errors be discovered.
Documents will be returned by email (or Dropbox or WeTransfer for large files).
We do guarantee our express proofreading to be within the deadline (3, 24 or 48-hour) and our overnight editing for the UK. It is a money-back guarantee. We consider your job to be returned when our email to you is successfully sent (e.g. we did not receive a bounce-back message).
- Technical disclaimer
Hit Send is not responsible or liable for service delays resulting from circumstances that could not be predicted, such as technical problems, including internet connection or server issues beyond our control. We will make every effort to meet deadlines and communicate with customers in the case of technical problems.
Hit Send is not responsible or liable for any damage to computer hardware or software arising from the distribution of a computer virus through the use of the Hit Send services.
The customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Hit Send and anyone associated with Hit Send from and against all loss that is suffered in connection with the provision of Hit Send’s services.
- Website disclaimer
Hit Send does not guarantee its website content to be accurate or up to date. We try to make sure it is, however.
- Financial fraud or theft
Hit Send is not liable for the fraudulent use of any credit card or other payment method that may be used to purchase its services. (Note that Hit Send staff never ask for your credit card details if you pay via our website, as all credit card payments are conducted through eWay or PayPal.)
- Ending our services
Hit Send reserves the right to cancel services to any customer when a virus is suspected in submitted documents. A refund of any credit payment will be issued less any associated cost incurred by Hit Send, including bank/transfer fees, editor costs, and virus removal costs.
- Changing our terms and conditions
Our terms and conditions may be updated at any time and for any reason, and are always available on our website.
